Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

Main
  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas sliced into rounds
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix about 3.4 ounces
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 tub whipped topping about 8 ounces
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, add instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Whisk until smooth and let it rest for a few minutes until thickened.
  2. Gently fold the whipped topping into the thickened pudding until combined and fluffy.
  3. Peel and slice the bananas into even rounds.
  4. In a large glass dish, start with a layer of vanilla wafer cookies.
  5. Add a layer of banana slices over the cookies.
  6. Spread a layer of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  7. Repeat layering cookies, bananas, and pudding until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
  8. Cover the dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. Serve chilled. Optionally, top with extra banana slices or crumbled cookies before serving.

Notes

Use ripe but firm bananas for best flavor and texture. Chilling is essential for the pudding to set and the cookies to soften into a perfect texture. Can be made a day in advance. For variety, consider optional add-ins like peanut butter swirl, chocolate drizzle, or crushed cookies.
