  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 small red onion finely diced
  • 1 fresh jalapeno seeded and minced
  • 1 ripe tomato diced and seeds removed
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 lime juiced

Method
 

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados using a fork or potato masher to your desired texture—chunky or smooth.
  3. Add the finely diced onion, minced jalapeno, and chopped tomato to the bowl and stir gently.
  4. Add the chopped cilantro and freshly squeezed lime juice. Mix until well combined.
  5. Season with salt to taste. Mix and adjust seasoning by adding more salt or lime juice as needed.
  6. Serve immediately with chips, toast, tacos, or enjoy directly with a spoon.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in diced mango or pineapple for a sweet twist, roasted garlic for depth, or chopped roasted corn for a crunch. To store leftovers and prevent browning, press a layer of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole and top with a thin layer of lime juice before refrigerating.
